Any of you that haven't yet read my post go and read that since it seems to have been the last sensible input to this topic and comment on that, not who is posting in the thread. I'm normally a fan of underdogs, or people who aren't always in the spotlight. Piccolo and Jeice and Burter from the Ginyu Force are among two characters in DBZ that I like, as well as Android 18, 17 and 16 and Vegeta. Vegeta is very much in DBZ's permanent spotlight, but Jeice not so much. I may say Jeice could kick some *****, but I'd never seriously do that unless it was true. I mostly joke, so in that regard I'm not one of those mega annoying fangirls who won't admit their favourite is flawed.

My problem is that my favourites change. Throughout that little list there I swap between them and can never settle on one. Some are obviously better than others in terms of canon power, such as Vegeta being stronger than Jeice. But since Jeice is the most underdog of them all, it fits well in this conversation. In fact, it might go some way into defining how someone can not be a fangirl/boy in that my favourites are almost based off of the fact they aren't "the best" and that is actively acknowledged in their selection as a favourite. I get more of a rush if someone takes down the guy they're all expected to win or who is most badass. So for example, when Tien used tri-beam on Cell that time to hold him off, I loved that, it was awesome, but I'd never go as far as to say Tien actually beat Cell in that encounter or was better than Cell power wise.

Posts: 663 Group: Member Member #6,803 Joined: September 28, 2011	I guess "fanboyism" begins when people start ignoring statements and facts, for the benefir of their favorite character, like many people said in the thread already. Kuririn is my favorite, although I like all earthlings & Piccolo as well, mostly because I like Dragon Ball more than Dragon Ball Z. Sometimes I wish they all trained using the real good methods (gravity, sparring partner, RoSaT) instead of training by their own after Freeza Saga (excluding Piccolo). They could also learn Kaio-Ken to keep up with the villains. But they didn't, I could even say the Earthlings are as powerfull as the base saiya-jins but that's never been implied, and from a logical point of view it's just absurd to think they could fill the gap so quickly, against the best trainer in the whole series (Goku), by doing usual training when he was using special methods. They're basically useless and utterly weak compared to the villains / saiya-jins from Androids Saga onwards.
